.8 to 1.6kHz
1. set the center frequency - since you wanted to cut frequencies between .8 and 1.6kHz, (that would be the center frequency around 1.2kHz)
2. set the BW (or Q) which affects how wide or narrow the filter is going to affect. You probably want to cover a little more than a half octave, so I've set the BW at .6 (if you want to cover a bit more range above and below the center frequency just increased the bandwidth).
3. set the amount of gain. either positive to boost or negative to cut.
Repeat for the 2nd frequency band
5kHz
1. set the center frequency - since you wanted to 5kHz, (that would be the center frequency 5kHz)
2. set the BW (or Q). Here you probably want to keep the BW pretty narrow so I've set the BW at .5 (half an octave). If you want to get more surgical with it, narrow the bandwidth further by making the BW smaller (.4, .3, .2, etc)
3. set the amount of gain. either positive to boost or negative to cut.
