Come on guys!
I mean I absolutely love mixing on my SAC rig, but there hasn't been a update to SAC in more than a year, and except for the 64 bit migration, there has not been a new feature implemented in SAC for even longer, so isn't fair to say that the development of SAC is pretty mush dead?
As I said I love mixing bands with SAC, but saying that there is nothing out there that matches SAC in terms of quality and features is simply wrong! SAC has it's strengths and weaknesses as any other console. I frequently mix on Yamaha SQ mixers and they sound great and have all the features I need for the gigs I do with them.
Last month I mixed a band with about 40 inputs, 7 IEM stereo mixes and a side fill mix at a large outdoor event. I used dynamic EQ's, convolution reverbs and real time auto tune. I did it with SAC and it was great. But I could have done it with a lot of other mixers + Waves mulitirack or similar solutions as well.
I'd love to be proven wrong and see a new version of SAC with VST 3 support and/or any of the multitude of requested features implemented, but I simply do not dare to hope for it.
