If the [Continue] option is set to "Yes" on the selected .edl, then this option is all that is required to have the .edl's function in a sequential manner.
However, if the .edl is employing Control Track commands, the the Control Track will take precedence over the Show Control commands.
If the .edl is NOT employing Control Track commands, then I suggest 1) creating a blank .edl, 2) make 3-6 copies of that same. .edl, and 3) insert these .edl's into a test Show Control session and see what transpires.
