You may want to look at DX Manager to manipulate DX plugs... but in general, you cannot rename them safely because they are hooked intricately thruought the Windows Registry... although if you trace things down in the registry you may be able to edit some names without breaking them... each may react differently.

In SAC or SAWStudio... it would be much easier to just create a Group in the FX Choices list and only select the ones you want to see... then set that as the default group and the program wil boot that way everytime.

Is it possible to rename DX plugins?

Hello everyone!

I have seen this problem in SawStudio - so it's not just SAC related.

I have a number of DX plugins that Native Instruments has installed. The plugins work fine - it's just that they show in the FX window as "NI DX Plugin" or similar - all of them say the same.

I would think that this is probably a problem with the NI plugins since the ones I have in my system by Sony show up ok.

Is there a way to rename them so that I know which plugin is which?
