Summing most often comes up as a digital vs analog topic.

Many believe there is something missing from the audio as it is summed/combined in a DAW like SAW. They miss the sound of transformers in analog mixers on their submasters. So a number of manufacturers made analog summing boxes where DAW users can take multiple outputs of their computer, put them through multiple channels of transformers and have them combined externally for the final mix signal that is then re-recorded back into the DAW as the final mix.

I have always felt that this is an unnecessary complication and have never bought a summing rack. I do have a number of plugins that emulate different transformers that I sometimes use from Kush, but I mix everything in the computer.

I hope that you are doing well....especially at this unprecedented time in our history?

So, some questions:

What is "summing"?
What is the purpose of summing?
Do analog mixing consoles incorporate this feature/functionality?
Do digital mixing consoles incorporate this feature/functionality?
Would SAC then, also incorporate his feature/functionality?

Any assistance would be under-demeciated!!
hi, find on the internet :
''All of your tracks are eventually running to your main two channel output. In this scenario, your software is digitally summing the tracks together. ''
So it coull be done in SawStudio or with a specific hardware OTB;
