Todd,

I never thought of considering the Matrix view from that perspective...though I have done so from the Mixer view.

I will do so hopefully today and will then get back to you. Maybe together we can make some degree of sense out this software!
  • Note: By-the-way...SAC is much easier to understand.

Thanks a bunch!! Merci Beaucoup!!

OK, I figured it out for me
too simple

using the MATRIX
Matrix can be displayed under Function Menu
sources are on the left and destinations are on the bottom
raise the volume of the cells by ctrl+lft clk or lft-clk drag up or down on the cells that intersect at AN 1/2 and the destination for me was Phones 2

maybe the matrix doesn't appear in the Total Mix version for HDSP9652 or the HDSP9632?

The real potential frustration comes with the fact that most - if not all of the RME "beginner" videos focus on one particular unit. Much of what is mentioned does not apply to, for example, either the HDSP9652 or the HDSP9632 - the latter being very difficult to obtain information on.

Posting on the RME forum simply has the moderator insisting that "all is my fault" - so I not longer employ that venue.

As I mentioned to Dave, "Anyhow, I press on...regardless..." Thanks for the reply, Todd.
Yeah, RME forum is utterly assumptive
I'll get to the bottom of it for me and report back
like I say, I'm pretty sure there is a very important page missing from the RME UFX+ manual
bon courage!

  • It would appear that the original 9632 manual is very, very similar to the 9652 manual - with the latter employing a completely different output configuration.

Posting on the RME forum simply has the moderator insisting that "all is my fault" - so I not longer employ that venue.

ugh
yeah...I've just spent 20min
I cannot figure out how to route AN1/2 to Phones11/12

I get some joy in the MATRIX- but seldom have control of whatever is going on

Dell,
I can't help with setting up your headphone mix
but MAN! Do I relate to your frustration with RME's inability to teach
those videos are only helpful if you want to do the subject of said video

I STILL don't know my way around Total Mix and swear there is a page missing in the written manual.
I've had my UFX+ since 2018 and Total Mix remains quite the mystery
and ALL support materials I have seen to date have been UTTERLY unhelpful

If I get a chance, I'll try to jump through the hoops and see if I can set up a headphone mix on my UFX+

Dave,

Firstly, "Yes"...I have viewed these videos numerous times...and really...to no avail. So, "No!"...these videos have not helped me.

For your interest, most videos that I have watched are what I would refer to as "assumptive" - that is, the author makes assumptions as to the previous and/or supposed knowledge of the recipient.

In my research endeavors with regards to "technical writing" - three of the tenants of such writing is that such writing should 1) be non-assumptive, 2) avoid the use of contractions, and 3) avoid the use of pronouns.

In all of my writings - unless otherwise so stated, I incorporate all of the three tenants in my writings. Though employing such "methods" may add to the overall extent of the text, that such usage, at least to those that have read such texts, are apparently very happy and satisfied with the results.
Such is not the case with TotalMixFX.
  • There are some on the RME Forum that have clearly stated that the forum is not geared towards the neophyte and all such visitors should have some basic knowledge of digital audio concepts.
  • Granted! However these videos are stated as being "...for Beginners"...so I assumed...! It would appear that I may have been wrong in my understanding of RME's use of the term "beginner".
Anyhow, I press on...regardless, Dave...thanks for the link...very much underdemeciated!!

Dell,

Are you using the newer TotalMix FX? Does this help?

Good day,

I could really use some assistance here. I thought that I was finally "getting my heard around" the TotalMixFX GUI only to discover that I not quite there yet!!

I am, as noted, attempting to assign the headphone output of the BO9632CMKH break-out cable.

I have the following documentation, which outlines what I have been able to accomplish thus far: [Click_Me]

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated....
