Good day,
For some time I had been on the look-out for a wave file player for SAC and at the time that though there were a number of 32-bit plug-in available - none provided the feature-sets that I was looking for namely, simplicity and being scene-able.
Of those, the only one that appeared workable was Mirax Labs vstPlayer. But alas...no!...No scene capabilities.
I did for a time, develop a 32-bit plug-in from SynthEdit...but I am really not interested at this time to develop a 64-bit version of the plug-in.
What to do?
As I use SAC and SAW "in tandem", I thought that I would run a few tests on using this combo for backing tracks - and I soon discovered that this combo is all that I really-and-truly required.
I use NirSoft's nircmd to 1) launch SAC with a pre-configured Session file, 2) enable LIVE mode, 3) launch SAW with a pre-configured Session file, and finally, 4) enable playback.
* This process takes approximately 4 seconds.
When completed, I then use NirSoft's nircmd to 1) exit SAW, 2) disable LIVE mode, and then, 3) exit SAC.
I hope that some might find this information of some practicable use?

How would you get audio from Foobar into SAC?andrew b wrote:install free foobar and use 2 channels only

Depends a lot on your system configuration.Dave Labrecque wrote:How would you get audio from Foobar into SAC?
I'm using RME PCI cards that have SPDIF input/output headers on the card. You can do a loopback allowing system sounds to be routed back to SAW/SAC, so sound from any audio sofware (FooBar, Windows Media Player, Your browser (youtube videos), etc) can be added to your mix.
Just have to be careful not to route audio from SAC/SAW out the SPDIF outputs our you'll get instant feedback.
I imagine similar options could be done with most any audio hardware as long as you have extra input/output pairs that are not in use.
Alternatively you might be able to do a software patch with something like ASIO4ALL (but others here would have to speak to that solution)

Okay. I was thinking Andrew had some kind of non-loopback approach in mind (and I couldn't imagine what it was). This idea is cool because the signal even stays digital.cgrafx wrote:Depends a lot on your system configuration.
