SOT: Nvidia Video Cards

Good day,
I hope that the day finds you well!

I am considering a laptop for my live performance needs.
* My preferred brand is IBM|Lenovo.
* I am considering these two units:
a) Thinkpad P50
b) ThinkPad T570

My question and only real concern is...is that I have head in the past, that Nvidia does not "play" all that well with RML Labs software. Thus, I am "reaching out" to the RML folks for your opinion(s)/suggestion(s).
* The P50 employs: Intel HD 520 integrated graphics via Nvidia optimus
* The T570 employs: Intel HD Graphics 620
PS: I am leaning more towards the P50...as this unit a "workstation-grade" system.

This may have been an issue in the long ago past, as I seem to recall discussions way back when about nvidia.

But I haven't given it much thought, if at all, for many years and many graphics cards and pcs later.
I'm currently using SAW and SAC on occasion in at least four desktop pcs that have nvidia cards, from "old" fanless, single slot to dual slot gaming style cards and have experienced no issues in SAW/SAC ( at least nothing I have thought to attribute to). All my current issues are with vst plugs that like to crash SAW and a general lack of computing power in these aging beasts.

I wouldn't be concerned about video card issues, both laptops support native intel graphics so if for some reason you had some sort of issue with the nvidia card you could opt to use the native CPU graphics (But I really wouldn't expect it to be an issue).

Everything else being pretty much equal the Lenovo Thinkpad P50 has two possible advantages

1. it has an actual Thunderbolt port on it (not just USB C), which could be very useful.

2. it comes with windows 10, NOT 11 (so a bit less invasive OS).

For example: Is the P53 just "more"?

The P53 is about 25% faster single-threaded, but a little bit slower CPU mark (about 10% slower). It however is way more power efficient at 15W TDP instead of 45W.

So battery life has the potential to be significantly better with the P53

This unit will be deployed entirely for "Live Performance". Therefore, battery life is not an issues here at all.

the SAC audio engine is functionally single threaded, so yes the faster CPU should process audio packets faster and reducing CPU load.

In your particular use case, low channel counts, low mixer counts, any of the laptops you are looking at should be fine.
