Hmm, the lack of vst3 was saving me money, as I was passing on some plugins that seemed pretty cool but didn't support vst2.

Even though I have 64bit, it was just simpler to keep using 32, but many of the 32 bit vst2 were being skipped on updates and bug fixes or maybe even obsoleted by win11. Anyway, I think being able to use new plugins is a probably big deal - particularly when some of you may already own plugins that you couldn't utilize.

True... so true. :)

I am thrilled to finally be able to load vst3 plugs directly.

I'm wondering, though... can we install this v2 like we would ordinary updates?
Or is it necessary to install this v2 SAW as a new install (with the need to also update preferences, defaults, f-keys, etc.)?

I'm just beginning a new project and want to take advantage of v2, without too much disruption to my established settings.

By the way - THANK YOU BOB!

You can install over the old to keep all prefs and FKeys.

Just keep a 1.4 install in case this gives you trouble... that way you can go back and reinstall the old one... or simply rename the SAWStudio64.exe file to SAWStudio64_14.exe... then you can always go back.

Another Question for Bob. Will there be a SAC v2 with VST3 support?

Working on it... want to make sure this code is stable first... the Vst3 code is extremely complicated.

Wow Bob! This is great news! I did not think this day would come. This pushes the relevance of SS out for a lot of years. Thanks!

Bob,
This is so exciting that I want to hand over my money now!

But my store account is not being recognized on the store website. I am also getting an error when trying to add to the cart without being logged in.

I ended up buying as a guest. Still got the download to my user downloads in just awhile later.

Here is something that has come to lite... it seems that Windows 11 users may have trouble using the Win 11 notepad to create the .ini files... it appears that the Win 11 notepad may not be creating standard ascii text files by default anymore and some users have noted that the .ini files don't work, even though they have created them correctly. AI has said that the old notepad.exe program is still included in Windows 11 installs... it is just not the default. It can be found directly in the C:\Windows folder... drag the notepad.exe file to the desktop and create a shortcut... use that original notepad to create the .ini files... or any other ascii text file creator... you can even use WordPad and save the files as standard text option.

I also recommend Notepad++ which is a free utility very useful ascii text editor.

They keep messing with the stuff that works and leaving the stuff that really needs fixing untouched.... oh well.

SAC + VST3 would be a great.
Thank you for considering this, and best of luck with the VST3 implementation!

Hi,
I made the upgrade to Saw V2, made my ini links.

So VST3 plugins open , no problem but in my case the automation doesn't work with the vst3 plugin.
mute and un-mute on a track doesn't work.

I don't konw if it's just a computer issue or not.
Someone else have this problem ?
Thanks

The vst3 automation is not yet supported, but hopefully soon.

Mute should work though.

Quick test here on Bypass automation. The move shows visually, but the plugin doesnt bypass.
