SAC64 Remote VST

Post by Ruben VS »

Hello again, I've just finished setting up my system with a host that remains in the stage and a PC running SAC64 Remote. I'm using the new SAC64 V2 update.

My system is now more stable with the remote SAC, since the Host doesn't have to open new Plugins windows etc.

I've read that VST plugins can't be used in real time, and I have to keep refreshing using the blue triangle. I don't have a problem with that.

But what I would like is to be able to see the meters in the open plugins on the remote. Is this possible?

For example, if it's an EQ, being able to see the RTA. If it's a compressor, being able to see the compression ratio on the gauges. Is there a way to achieve this?
My Setup SAC:

interface - digigramLX646
preamps - Yamaha Ad8hr
Outs - Yamaha DME80-es
protocol audio - Ethersound
I control gain remote ;);

If you use the remote in the way you are saying, you can not see the meters function on the remote because there is no actual audio flowing thru the remote to trigger the meters on the remote version of the plugin. You can do it using something like Team Viewer and just running the vst plugins on the host and using Team Viwer or something similar to look at the host screen on the remote itself.

The Levelizer and Frequency Analyzer and my EQ and Echo plugins will handle meters on the remote using my plugin architecture.

Let's see if the community, with your help, can create some new native plugins for SAC so we don't have to depend on external VSTs, hehehe.

I'm putting the idea out there to see if the community is interested and together we can make a list of what's needed, hehe.

I'm just kidding, but it could be great.

I run a KVM switch via Cat5 from the computer on stage to front of house to see and control the computer directly.
Maybe this would not work for your situation?
