Congrats on the purchase! Have you thought about firewire?

For small 2 channel cards you could look into some of the M-Audio Midiman USB cards... also look at some of the Edirol products.

My favorite for Multi-Channel has still been the RME Hammerfall DSP PCMCIA cards, but they do require a breakout box and converters depending on your choices.

Firewire options are starting to become common... some may work out very well for you.

Actually it's not so much breakout boxes that I don't want, as i'm sure they are unavoidable with laptops, but I don't want a bunch of built in analog IO features. I'm looking for something simple like the Hammerfall digi9652 except for a laptop. Something I can use dedicated converters with like the Mytek stuff, or ADI-8.

Having read your replys has stirred up the pot I guess and if my memory serves me the digiface from RME might be just what I'm looking for. A good thing for sure since I've had nothing but good things to say about my Hammerfall light and I would really like to continue using RME products. So, I'll go check them out.

BTW, anyone know a good kidney broker?
